Vaahto to convert PM at Kama paper mill in Russia

LAHTI, Finland, Aug. 13, 2008 (Press Release) - Vaahto Pulp & Paper Machinery has received an order from InvestLesProm Group (ILP) of paper machine modernization to Kama paper mill in Russia. The order consists of extensive paper machine modernization and conversion from news print machine to LWC paper production. The value of the order amounts to approximately Euro 30 million.
Vaahto Pulp & Paper Machinery's delivery includes new wire section with top-former and dilution controlled HQC-headbox, on-line film coater, multi-nip calendar and center-wind assisted VCR-reel. Short circulation, air systems, coating color kitchen and advanced automation are essential parts of the supply. The extensive delivery also includes rebuilds for the press and dryer sections as well as the machines existing machine calendar The start-up of the machine will be at the end of year 2009.
Kama paper mill, located in Krasnokamsk in Perm region, is an integrated member of the InvestLesProm Group (ILP). The business units in ILP cover the entire chain from forest to finished packaging, including activities within forestry, mills, paper production, fiberboard and paper packaging. This project will make ILP the first company to manufacture LWC paper in Russia.
